About us
Hi, I’m Jeremy (@imjermee). My wife Jocelyn and I created Roll for Dinner, and we couldn't be more proud. But how did we get here? Well, glad you asked...
Summer 2024: “candy salads” took over my TikTok feed. You know the one? Where a bunch of kindergarteners introduce themself and pour their preferred candy into a large bowl? Diabolical. So, one night I found myself in the candy aisle, and thought: I want a candy salad. But just me. So I filled my cart. The next morning I asked a confused Jocelyn to film me (it was my first TikTok). It went viral. Made a chocolate one. Viral again.
More salads, more followers. But I actually do love cooking. So I started to mix in real recipes and reviews. Then my son suggested “Roll for Salad”; rolling dice to decide the ingredients. Some combos were great. Some were terrible (garlic ranch + freeze-dried bananas). But it was fun.
Then one night I had no idea what to make for dinner. But I had plenty of my roll for salad ingredients. So I called in my boys and asked them if they were ready to roll. Instead of a video stunt, we rolled for real. A few re-rolls to keep it edible. Mixed greens, turkey, provolone, apples, cucumber, raspberry vinaigrette, pecans. My kids devoured it. Same salad served by me? Mutiny. Chosen by dice? Thrill.
Lightbulb: if dice make salad exciting for a 5 and 10 year old, what else could it do?
Roll for Dinner was born. Kids crave agency. We spent six months testing, designing, tweaking. Now “Ugh, dinner again?” becomes “What’s the dice gonna pick?!”
Proud. Grateful. Still laughing that a candy stunt led here. Thanks for coming to the table. Let’s roll.
